Board of Education and Advisory Committee inspect Tibetan schools in India

Dharamshala: The Chairman and members of the Board of Education and the Department of Education Advisory Committee (CTA) visited Tibetan schools and provided guidance to students, teachers and parents.

Committee Chairman Ven Geshe Lhakdor visited Tibetan schools based in Dharamshala for three days from July 19 to 21, 2022. visited schools in the Tibetan colonies in central India from June 20 to 29, while the other members of the committee, namely Palkhang Nyima Dhondup (director of the Palkhang Academy) and Sonam Gyaltsen (lecturer at the College of Higher Tibetan Studies – Sarah) visited Tibetan schools in the northeastern regions encompassing Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Gangtok, and Tibetan schools in Bir-Chauntra, respectively from July 11.

During the visit of the Board of Education and the Advisory Committee, the President and members inspected the libraries, classrooms, science laboratories, hostels and canteens of the schools. At the same time, the visiting members assessed the schools’ adherence to the Central Tibetan Administration’s education policy and supervised the teachings in the classrooms.

The inspection and management, funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), received support and facilitation from the respective schools and settlement offices.
