Indian Swamis to Join Interreligious Dialogue with Pope, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar in Bahrain

Bahrain is set to welcome prominent religious leaders including Pope Francis, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Shaikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb and Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, among other renowned scholars for a dialogue interreligious.

The two-day Bahrain Dialogue Forum will be held on Thursday and Friday under the theme “East and West for Human Coexistence”.

The dialogue is organized by the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence (KHGCPC) along with the Muslim Council of the Elders and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

The event will feature a series of discussions aimed at promoting the values ​​of peace and tolerance.

Sessions will include discussions on global coexistence and human brotherhood, the role of religious leaders in addressing current challenges, and global interreligious dialogue for world peace.

Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri is the primary disciple of humanitarian and spiritual leader Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, also known as Amma. He has lived at Amritapuri Ashram since its establishment in the late 1970s.

The KHGCPC has launched several initiatives with the aim of promoting a culture of peace and coexistence, including the King Hamad Chair in Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence, the King Hamad Faith in Leadership Fellowship Program, and the launch of the Kingdom Declaration. from Bahrain.
