Latest News Live updates from September 28, 2021: Seeking to educate the masses about adopting climate-resilient technologies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate 35 crop varieties to the nation on Tuesday with special traits. During the virtual ceremony, he will also inaugurate the newly constructed campus of the National Institute for Biotic Stress Tolerance, Raipur, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said on Monday. On this occasion, Modi will distribute the Green Campus Award to agricultural universities and interact with farmers who use innovative methods, before addressing a rally, he added. The PMO noted that crop varieties with special characteristics have been developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to address the twin challenges of climate change and malnutrition. Thirty-five of these varieties were developed in 2021, he said.
